'In Memory’ is developed as a work that seeks to honour and reflect on the history and suffering of the Selk'nam people, while inhabiting the beauty of their worldview and the violence they endured, with the aim of sharpening its final intent.
The work is born from encounters with photographs, books, and documentaries that open a space for research and exploration, helping to understand the Selk'nam worldview and the historical events they experienced.
From there emerges a figure: a woman carrying her child on her back, inspired by a photograph by Martín Gusinde. Through mixed textile techniques, it proposes a material and sensitive rereading of this image, seeking to perpetuate and honour the original people of Patagonia.
