Bio

Visual artist and teacher based in Valdivia, Chile, her practice focuses on sculptures made primarily from animal and plant fibers, exploring the material and symbolic possibilities of textiles in dialogue with memory and identity.
Her works have been shown in group exhibitions in Chile, Argentina, México, the United Kingdom, and Belgium, and in the solo exhibitions Three Heartbeat (2017), Traces of Living History (2020), both at Diego Rivera Cultural Centre in Puerto Montt, and Art, Communication and Human Rights (2022) at the Universidad de la Frontera in Temuco, with research texts by Mario Álvarez.
She has been the recipient of distinguished recognitions, including the Chile Crea 2019 Grant from the Chilean Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Heritage and the Vice-Chancellor Postgraduate Scholarship from Leeds Arts University. She also won first place in the Three-Dimensional category of the Surmundo Exhibition at the Diego Rivera Cultural Centre in Puerto Montt (2016) and in the Young Painting and Sculpture competition of the City Council of Santiago (2012).
She currently works as a visual arts teacher while developing her work as an independent artist.
Statement
My practice is driven by a deep need to process emotions shaped by historical events and personal experiences. Each piece begins with a powerful feeling or moment that leaves a mark on me or my surroundings.
Primarily mixing textile techniques and sculpture, I sought to reflect on memory and identity, often through the representation of the human figure and, recently, everyday objects.
I am also interested in exploring the concept of dualism, in which sculptures can represent opposing yet complementary concepts through materials and forms such as presence and absence, interior and exterior, empty and full, memory and forgetting, among others.
